Since I'm such a cool, organized mom, I knew that babies need needles at 15 months. Oh, wait, no I didn't. Which is why Mac is now 17 1/2 months old and is only now going in for the 15 month shots. And the only reason I realized that is due to my sister in law, who IS on the ball and DID get those shots for her son. *sigh* I though staying home meant I would be on top of things. YEAH RIGHT.

So today Mac went to the Doctors (I decided to go too - they frown on infants going alone) and got two needles. It's so heart wrenching. And you can tell it hurts them. As soon as we "assumed the position" (which means I hold Mac in a bear hug and pinch his feet in between my legs so they can give him two needles simultaneously) Mac started screaming blue bloody murder. And once he actually got poked... YIKES. So he's in pain and he's MAD MAD MAD. And he's screaming at the top of his lungs: "MAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMAMA" like I did it to him. OK, well, I sorta did. But still. Poor little guy.

As a reward for taking it (semi) well, I stopped at Wendy's on the way home. At this point I should mention that it was almost an hour and a half past usual nap time.  As we were driving home, I was handing french fries to him in the back to eat and I happened to look in the rear view mirror and saw him falling asleep as he was eating. It was the funniest thing to watch (and yes, I was making sure he didn't choke - don't worry). It kind of reminded me of a dog who is sitting up and starts nodding off...

So here's hoping he sleeps a good three hours this afternoon. Needles either knock him out or make him angry. And I don't want to be alone with him if he's angry. Just kidding..... well, not really.  :)

I lub him.
