For this part I've included some series simply because I can't pick a particular book in the series that I like better than others. (These are not in any particular order.)
4. The Enchanted Forest Series by Patricia E Wrede. This series is compiled of three books: Dealing with Dragons, Calling on Dragons, and Talking to Dragons. I first read these when I was probably in grade four or five and fell in love with them. The author has basically writing a parody of fairy tales. She's taken the original Once upon a time... formula and turned it inside out and upside down. A VERY entertaining read.
3. Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. This series follows a young Christian Jewish girl during the fall of Jerusalem who is taken captive by the Romans and shipped to Rome to be a household slave. The story follows her, the family that owns her in Rome and also a Germanic Tribal Leader that was captured and brought to Rome to fight as a gladiator. GREAT books. They ARE a little graphic but I found it just added to the story.
2. Narnia series by CS Lewis. CS Lewis was a genius. I feel like if I go into my wardrobe and look hard enough I'll find the door to Narnia.
1. The Zion Chronicles & The Zion Covenant Series by Brock and Bodie Theone. These take place immediately preceding the second world war and immediately following the second world war. Excellent writing and I couldn't put the books down.
