Adventures in Pastaland

I decided to try to make my own pasta. Silly me, I thought it would be easy. Actually in all honesty, it probably COULD have been easy if I had decided to make regular pasta but I decided to make gluten free pasta who's recipe was written by a chef who likes to complicate things. It didn't go well.

I started out really confident.  I mixed the dry ingredients and made a well in the centre. Then I mixed all the wet ingredients and added them in the little well.

Then everything broke loose. And it just went downhill from there... literally.

So I found a different easier recipe online and made that one. It worked out a little better. Here is my ball of dough, all wrapped up and resting.

I only made one quick batch and threw the rest in the fridge. It was actually pretty good!! I just made noodles, but I can't wait to try my hand at ravioli and tortellini. I still need to play with the dough a bit to get used to it though because I don't think I've found the right consistency yet. My pasta maker ended up just being a giant pain in the butt so I rolled it out with a rolling pin and and cut it by hand. I'll have to try this again when I don't have Isaac yelling at me :)
